User guide

This guide covers everything around the puzzles — daily and weekly challenges, hints, filters, settings, syncing, and removing ads. For how to actually solve a puzzle (drawing paths, the rules), open the built-in tutorial any time: Settings → "Show me how to play," or read Settings → Game Rules.

Finding puzzles

  • Continue — picks up your last puzzle, or starts the next one you haven't played.
  • Random — drops you into a random puzzle you haven't finished yet.
  • Browse — opens the full catalog. Tap any tile to play; finished puzzles show a checkmark.

Filtering the catalog

In Browse, tap Filters to narrow the list:

  • Grid size — pick one or more dimensions.
  • Difficulty — Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert.
  • Status — show all, or only finished / unfinished.
  • Sort the results, and Reset filters to clear everything.

Filters stack — ask for unfinished Hard 10×10s and play exactly those.

The Daily Puzzle

  • A new puzzle every day — the same grid for everyone.
  • Solve it to keep your streak going.
  • Want to replay or catch one you missed? Open the calendar to play past daily puzzles.

The Weekly Challenge

  • One large puzzle each week, pulled from the biggest grids in the catalog (16×16 and up).
  • It's a longer sit, so your progress saves automatically. Leave and come back — your paths, moves, and timer are right where you left them.
  • A new challenge replaces it each week.

Hints

  • Stuck? Tap the Hint button in the puzzle controls to reveal part of the solution.
  • Your first hint each day is free. Need more? Watch a short video to earn extra hints.
  • Using a hint still counts your solve toward your streak.

Progress & streaks

  • Every puzzle you finish is saved and marked complete.
  • Your streak grows when you solve at least one puzzle a day — the Daily Puzzle, the Weekly Challenge, or any catalog puzzle all count.
  • Continue and Random use your progress to keep serving puzzles you haven't done.

Settings

Open Settings from the gear icon:

  • Audio — choose your gameplay music: Heavy, Atmospheric, or Off. Music can also be toggled off entirely. Mute is a real choice here, not a buried one.
  • Haptics — turn the vibration feedback on connections on or off.
  • Sync — turn cross-device sync on or off, and check your sync status (see below).
  • Game Rules — a quick refresher on how to play.
  • Show me how to play — replay the full tutorial any time.
  • Load by ID — jump straight to a specific puzzle if you know its ID.
  • Reset progress — clears all completions and streaks. This can't be undone.

Removing ads

  • Line Forge is free to play with a light banner and the occasional full-screen ad.
  • A one-time Remove Ads purchase turns those off for good.
  • The optional hint videos stay even after you remove ads — so you can still earn extra hints whenever you want them.

Syncing across your devices

  • With sync on, your completions, streaks, daily and weekly progress, and settings follow you between iPhone and iPad.
  • A Weekly Challenge you've started on one device can be picked up on another.
  • A regular catalog puzzle you're partway through stays on the device you started it on — finish it there, and the completion syncs.
  • Sync uses your iCloud account: sign into the same iCloud on each device and turn on Settings → Sync.
